Hi!
It’s always nice to start out a conversation with a hello, whether that’s with strangers or old friends. I’m not sure who you’ll be when you read this since it’s been a while since I posted here. I’ve been busy, just not busy putting stuff on the website.
I haven’t quite done a lot of thinking on the future, so that’s why this isn’t a Future Plans post (for those of you who know and/or remember that series). Just a reintroduction, or introduction for some of you.
But like I said, I have been busy! The last thing I did on this website was put the Sellsword Expedition out, and I’m still proud of it. I had plans to get into a cycle of one or two expeditions a year but since then I’ve been thinking a lot on how I want to tell stories. I’ve tried a few different, new, things out and having options is always great. Mostly though, I’ve been trying to get better at everything that makes up In Extremis.
If you follow me on Twitch or YouTube you’ve probably seen the Relaxing In… series I’ve been doing—trying to articulate and expand on what makes In Extremis’ music what it is and what it can be. Of course, relaxing music is nice in and of itself, so that’s a good place to start. I’ve been trying to get better at the art too, and you probably wouldn’t be surprised that the “trick” at getting better in both the music and the art is just doing it more.
So that’s really it. I’ve been making probably about the same amount of art and music as I had been as when I was posting regularly on here, putting out expeditions, and things like that. Maybe even more, honestly. I’m just not only making what I plan the “final result” will be, so that it’ll be somewhere around what I’d call “good enough” soon.
I’ve been making a lot of pixel art (special mention to teenage me and all the friends I had across the internet who made pixel art with me), relaxing music, stingers for stream, longer acoustic music, art studies, landscapes, and also sewing dress shirts. I’ve been busy.
I’ll do more thinking about the near future soon and hopefully this won’t be the last post of the year.
If you want to connect in the meantime, @ me on bluesky or follow me on Twitch and show up to a stream.
Bye for now :)
