Because of the lack of mist and geological danger as compared to Southern Ridge, most of the shani population finds itself here.1 The wildlife is more vibrant here as well comparatively, as the need for extreme sight and climbing adaptations are not necessary to survive. Western Edge, like the rest of The Blade has rough geological features that rise to highlands and mountains and swoop down to rolling hills.1 The climate below the highlands and mountains is stable, whereas the temperature above the frostline swings wildly throughout the year, and has a large range during the day.
