Ypx here—today we’re going to be listening to “2AM (Rain)” from Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I’ve covered the game’s history before (around when it came out), but with a new expansion and final free update on the horizon, I thought we’d listen to some more music from the game again. The series has had different music for each hour of the day, and versions of each of those hours based on the weather, and in each game the weather modifies the music in very similar ways.
Rain music in ACNH will always reduce the instrumentation and add wood-based sounds like marimba. 2AM is also one of if not my favourite songs from the game. It is great on its own and very relaxing to me, but given the context of what plays at 3AM, I enjoy 2AM even more. The rain version of 2AM is more subdued and perhaps more relaxing, so that’s what we’ll listen to this week.
